1874 Northwich FC to play in North West Counties League

1874 NORTHWICH FC are set to be a North West Counties League Division One side next season after the FA approved their application.

The decision announced today will also not require member clubs of the North West Counties League to ratify whether 1874 and Widnes Vikings FC should play in the division.

Subsequently, both teams will be automatically allocated to the North West Counties League during the AGM on June 15.

However, Hanley Town await promotion to the division subject to a final inspection after the FA Leagues committee confirmed their promotion from the Staffordshire Senior League.

Speaking this morning, 1874 Northwich FC chairman, Paul Stockton said: “I am absolutely delighted and at the same time relieved to hear this news.”

Paul also thanked the Cheshire FA and North West Counties League for their support during a previous meeting at St George’s Park, Burton with the FA earlier this month.
